Kevin A. Myers; Obituary, Death: It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Kevin A. Myers, a loving father, husband, and friend to many, who left us unexpectedly on March 15, 2025, in Poynette, Wisconsin. Kevin’s untimely death has left an overwhelming emptiness in the hearts of his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His kind heart, unwavering dedication to his family, and commitment to his community will forever be remembered.
Born on December 5, 1969, in Madison, Wisconsin, Kevin was the son of Richard and Linda Myers. He grew up in Poynette, where he built lifelong relationships and became a well-respected figure in the community. From an early age, Kevin’s warmth, humor, and passion for life were evident. He was known for his easygoing nature, infectious laugh, and the genuine way he made everyone feel welcome. Kevin’s ability to connect with others was truly a gift, and he never hesitated to extend a hand to those in need.
Kevin’s love for his family was unparalleled. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Sarah, with whom he shared 22 years of marriage. Their partnership was built on mutual respect, love, and a shared commitment to raising a family together. Kevin and Sarah’s bond was the foundation of their life, and he consistently demonstrated his devotion through small gestures, daily acts of kindness, and a love that only grew stronger with time. Together, they created a home filled with laughter, warmth, and love, and Kevin’s absence leaves a void that cannot be filled.
Kevin was also a proud father to his two children, Emily and Luke. His love for them was immense, and he poured his heart and soul into being the best father he could be. Whether it was coaching Luke’s little league team, helping Emily with her science fair projects, or simply spending quality time together at home, Kevin cherished every moment with his children. His guidance, wisdom, and sense of humor will forever shape their lives.
Emily and Luke will carry with them the values their father instilled in them: the importance of kindness, integrity, hard work, and always being there for those you love. As a member of the Poynette community, Kevin’s dedication extended beyond his family. He was a lifelong resident who cared deeply about the people around him. He worked for many years as a manager at the Poynette Hardware Store, where he developed strong friendships with customers and colleagues alike.
His co-workers admired his leadership and work ethic, and his customers appreciated his honesty and willingness to go the extra mile to help. Kevin took great pride in his work, always ensuring that the store was well-stocked and that everyone who entered felt valued. His presence at the store will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of working with him.
Kevin was also an active participant in local events, volunteering his time and resources to help improve the community. Whether it was organizing a fundraiser for the local food pantry or participating in the annual Poynette Festival, Kevin was always there, ready to lend a hand. His commitment to his community was evident in everything he did, and he leaves behind a legacy of service and kindness. He was the type of person who believed in the power of community and the importance of giving back, and he lived that belief every day.
Outside of work and family, Kevin had a variety of interests that brought him joy. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved spending time fishing, hiking, and camping with his family. Kevin found peace in nature and often took trips to nearby lakes and forests, where he could unwind and reconnect with the world around him. He also had a deep love for sports, particularly baseball and football.
He was an enthusiastic fan of the Wisconsin Badgers and the Milwaukee Brewers, and he enjoyed watching games with his family and friends. These shared moments of laughter and camaraderie were among his most cherished memories. Kevin’s sense of humor was one of his most endearing qualities. He had a knack for making people laugh, whether it was with a well-timed joke, a funny story, or just his infectious laugh that could light up any room.
He was a source of joy and positivity to everyone who knew him, and his ability to bring people together will never be forgotten. Kevin’s genuine love for life, his kindness, and his laughter will remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to call him a friend. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Poynette Community Church on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the church, and a reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Poynette Community Foundation, an organization that Kevin supported throughout his life. The Myers family would like to express their deepest gratitude to all who have reached out with love, support, and kind words during this incredibly difficult time.
The outpouring of support from the community is a testament to the kind of person Kevin was, and it provides great comfort to his family as they navigate this tremendous loss. Although Kevin is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched. His legacy of love, generosity, and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Kevin’s life was a testament to the power of kindness and the importance of family, and he will forever be remembered with love and admiration. Rest in peace, Kevin A. Myers. Your love, your laughter, and your presence will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. You will always have a place in our hearts.
